im very curious as to how to achieved this. any tutorials or tips you could provide would be wonderful.

i understand that you hid the menu bar and dock, while using dragthing and geektool instead. what theme/setup do you use for dragthing?

I'm especially curious about the Applications link. is that a separate dock?

i hid the menubar with magic menu, it's a pack of apple scripts :) dock just hid it and i'm using dragthing instead, one of the default themes, just enabled transparency and voila!. changed the font of the dock too. it's helvetica neue.

the applications is just a word i typed using geektool to let it show on the desktop :)
